Chesapeake City Park

This 90-acre site has 60 acres of open space with the remainder rows of reforested pine trees. Chesapeake City Park is the premier place in Chesapeake for entertainment!

Princess Anne Athletic Complex

 The Princess Anne Athletic Complex is located in the heart of Princess Anne Commons across the street from the Virginia Beach Sportsplex and Veteran's United Home Loans Amphitheater.

Norfolk, VA
Bud Metheny Baseball Complex

The Bud Metheny Baseball Complex located in Norfolk, VA is home to the Old Dominion Universtiy Monarch basbeall team, who compete in Conference USA. The ballpark has a seating capacity of 2,500 and is named after long-time basketball coach, baseball manager and athletic director Bud Metheny. Coach Metheny worked for the university for over 30 years and served as:

  • Baseball Manager 1948 - 1980 
  • Basketball Coach 1948 - 1965
  • Athletic Director 1963 - 1970

All this was after an 11 year playing career with the New York Yankess that included a World Series Title in 1943. He holds the record for most baseball wins in school history with 423. ODU baseball has continued that success with a few players making it to the MLB:

  • Daniel Hudson - Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Wayne Gomes - Philadelphia Phillies

Compound Crossfit

Compound CrossFit will Host the CrossFit Challenge!

 Compound Crossfit offers specialty classes, personal training, coaching, and small group sessions to help you get in the shape you want to be in. The CrossFit portion of the Hero Games will be a team competition (same gender) and all the weights will be possible for all levels of athletes.

Compound CrossFit offers:

  • Olympic Lifting equipment
  • Crossfit Games Advanced Training materials
  • Boot Camp workout exercise equipment

Course Movements for the competition include:

  • Running

Jane P. Batten Students Center, Virginia Wesleyan College

The Jane P. Batten Student Center located at the center of the Virginia Wesleyan College campus is a 137,000 square foot multipurpose facility. The Batten Student Center is devoted to promoting health, leadership and a love for athletics.

The Center contains an arena that houses a competition:

  • basketball court
  • 3 practice courts
  • 3 volleyball courts
  • 1,150 chair -back seats
  • elevated jogging track
  • 36-foot climbing wall
  • 3 racquetball courts
  • 8-lane 25-yard swimming pool

The Center also houses:

Brittingham-Midtown Community Center

Located in Newport News. This multipurpose center has 80,415 square feet of recreation space that includes a:

  • 500-seat natatorium with a 50-meter indoor pool
  • 10 competitive scored and timed lanes
  • three-meter diving board
  • two one-meter diving boards and a 14-foot diving well

It also holds a 200 seat gymnasium with a full basketball court and indoor walking/jogging track.The center also features:

  • therapeutic and mature adult recreation areas
  • seven multipurpose rooms
  • 14,000 square feet outdoor covered area for basketball and special events
C2 Shooting Center

C2 Shooting Center will Host the Pistol Challenge!

 C2 Shooting Center strives to operate both the finest and safest shooting facility in the area. From training the US Navy special operations community to working with the US Marshall Service to teaching beginners how to shoot, their classes are personalized to your individual needs. C2 provides instruction and range experience no matter your level of expertise.

Norfolk Collegiate Turf Fields

The athletic complex in 2015 made Norfolk Collegiate the first K-12 school in the greater Hampton Roads region with two side-by-side, competition-size turf fields with lights. As the only school with such fields in Hampton Roads, Collegiate offers our student-athletes and the local athletic community a standout facility for local and regional tournaments, as well as the opportunity to train and compete daily on professional-level surfaces. 

Not only does a synthetic grass field allow teams to practice and play games under all weather conditions, it easily accommodates multiple sports to be played on one field.See below for detailed information on the turf fields.

  • Two 70x110 yard, competition-sized, pre-lined artificial turf fields

  • Comprised of approximately 164,500 square feet of TurfField Classic Slit Film two-inch with an infill mix

  • Fields are pre-lined for soccer, field hockey, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse

  • Six state-of-the-art Musco® lights; two are 80 feet tall and four are 70 feet tall 
  • Bleachers provide seating for 500 spectators
  • New, high-visibly scoreboards

  • A batting cage offers a designated hitting area, as well as usage of fields for conditioning and fielding practice for our softball and baseball teams.

Ocean View Golf Course will Host the Golf Tournament!

 Ocean View Golf Course, located in Norfolk, Virginia is among Hampton Roads' most memorable and enjoyable golf courses! It has enjoyed a long successful 85 year history and was the first course in the United States to offer rental pull carts before electric carts became the preferred choice on the course.

Virginia Beach Field House

The Virginia Beach Field House, at approximately 175,000 square feet, is one of the largest indoor sports facilities on the East Coast. It houses youth programs, camps & clinics, parties, and events & tournaments.

1st Floor:

  • Four synthetic turf fields (90’ x 180’)
  • Eight regulation volleyball courts
  • Four regulation basketball courts
  • Field House Grille (one-stop concession venue)

2nd floor:

  • Two synthetic turf fields (45’ x 90’)
  • Party rooms
  • Children’s playground/Arcade

In October 2015, VBFH completed the construction of the outdoor sand courts. The multi-purpose sand courts can be set up as:

  • Eight volleyball courts
  • Two  soccer fields
  • One flag football court

Boo Williams Sportsplex

Boo Williams Sportsplex located in Hampton, VA is a multi-purpose venue developed by prominent athlete, coach and youth sports advocate Boo Williams. The Sportsplex is a $13.5M 135,000 square foot multi-sport facility that contains:

  • eight hard wood basketball courts
  • a 6-lane indoor track
  • 4,000 spectator seats
  • event operation center
  • trainers room

The facility can accommodate a multitude of sports such as:

Virginia Beach Sportsplex

Host of the 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run, Cornhole and Tug-of-War Events!

The steel and concrete structured stadium has 3-levels and hosts a variety of sport activities, tournaments, festivals, events, and runs.

  • It holds 6,000 seats overall, located on two levels. However, stadium capacity is about 10,000.
    • Lower deck contains 3,600 seats,
    • Upper deck contains 2,400 seats with six luxury suites.
    • The majority of the seats have armchairs with seat backs.
    • The stadium's state-of-the-art turf surface is more than adequate to handle the full range of typical field events, including football, field hockey, lacrosse, and many more!

The Sportsplex is also home to all natural grass athletic fields that cover 3 acres, making them customisable for any event.

    • Soccer, lacrosse, flag football, festivals, and a variety of 5k runs use these fields.
    • Field maintenance is conducted regularly to ensure that high quality grass is enjoyed at each and every event at the Sportsplex Athletic Fields.
The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium

Located in the majestic trees of the Aquarium, between the Marsh Pavilion and the Bay & Ocean Pavilion, you will find the amazing “aerial forest park.”

Climbing Up There?

  • A series of platforms in the trees connected by cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Each bridge presents a different challenge of how to get to the next platform.
  • Choose level of difficulty from 13 different color-coded trails:
    • Beginner: (easier and lower to the ground)
    • Intermediate: (in the middle)
    • Advanced: (the most challenging)

Before The Climb

  • Receive a complete safety briefing and orientation. The double-connected, “always-locked-on” climbing system helps keep your climbing harness securely attached to the safety line at all times.
  • Acknowledge the trails are intentionally designed for your self-discovery, making lessons unnecessary. The Park Guides are available to assist throughout your visit.

Norfolk, VA
Norfolk Scope

Built in 1971, Scope Arena remains the world's largest reinforced thin-shell concrete dome. An iconic landmark in downtown Norfolk, it is currently home to the Norfolk Admirals hockey team and host of the MEAC Basketball Tournament.

Venue details:

  • Multipurpose arena & convention hall with main floor dimensions of 227' x 133'
  • Oval shape offers 24,466 square feet of space with a maximum ceiling height of 110-ft
  • The four exhibit facilities may be used in conjunction with each other
  • These halls are easily converted into one by removing portable partitions.
  • 60,000 square feet of exhibit hall space expandable to a total of 140,000 square feet of usable space.
  • Portable stages can be arranged.
  • Seating Capacity: Ice Hockey - 8,900; Basketball - 10,250; Boxing - 11,134

Chrysler Hall

Chrysler Hall, located in Norfolk, VA, serves as the premier performing arts center of Hampton Roads. Seating 2,500 in the orchestra, dress circle, and balcony, Chrysler Hall is well suited to a multitude of events. Its main lobby and two-level grand hall can easily accommodate bistro tables as well as buffet serving tables for a complete evening of patron entertaining. The venue has hosted countless concerts and events, including the following:

Cypress Point Country Club

Cypress Point Country Club is a semi-private golf course, restaurant and venue for private events located at the intersection of Wesleyan Drive and Cypress Point Boulevard.  They were awarded the Virginian Pilot's "Best of the Best" award nine times. They are open to the public, but also sell memberships that allows members access to all of the club's amenities, social events and privileged access to all four Hampton Roads Golf Clubs:

Freeman Center, Christopher Newport University

Located on the campus of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. The Freeman Center is a state of the art multipurpose facility with seating for 5,000. The center features:

  • 10,000 square feet of fitness and wellness space

The facility is the performance venue for CNU's Men's & Women's basketball, indoor track and volleyball programs

Hampton Roads Convention Center

The Hampton Roads Convention Center is located in Hampton, VA next to the Hampton Coliseum. The convention center features more than 320,000 square feet of unique space to meet or compete on. It also offers:

  • 100,000 square feet of exhibit and pre-function space
  • 28,000 square foot ballroom
  • 13,000 square foot junior ballroom
  • numerous breakout rooms

War Memorial Stadium
For a truly nostalgic feel, hold your next baseball tournament in one of the few all-wooden ballparks left in the world! Home to the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plains league, an event in this beautiful park-like setting is like a visit to baseball's early years. For event management, an elevated and enclosed sky-box is available. Seating capacity: 5,125.
Willams Farm Recreation Center
Williams Farm Recreation Center is a brand new 70,993 square foot, Silver LEED-certified facility located off Newtown Road between Diamond Springs and Newtown Elementary Schools.
