Over the last 20 years, the Hampton Roads Sports Commission has recruited and hosted a plethora of events. Additionally, the Hampton Roads Sports Commission has focused on regional collaboration and enhancement, while creating home-grown, quality of life sporting events for the community.

Past events recruited and hosted by the Hampton Roads Sports Commission include the:

• Red Cross Hero Games (2004, 2005)

• National Senior Games (2003)

• USA Gymnastics Level 4 and Level 5 State meets (2005)

• AAU Team Gymnastics (2003)

• Virginia Sports Summit (2019)

• AAU Junior Olympic Games (1998, 2001, 2006, 2010, 2015)

The Hampton Roads Sports Commission has been awarded the AAU Junior Olympics Games for the years 2020 and 2025. The Hampton Roads Sports Commission aims to build and continue to create innovative events that will not only provide to the quality of life for events, but also focus on the health and wellness aspect as it relates to the community.
