Hampton Roads Sports Commission Creates and Launches Hampton Roads Sports Council
May Meeting Held at the Virginia Beach Field House

The Hampton Roads Sports Commission launched the Hampton Roads Sports Council this year and has hosted two meetings since March. The mission of the Sports Council is to become the go to organization that connects sports organizations, parks and recreation departments, CVBs and businesses together to generate economic impact for the region and improve the quality of life of residents in Hampton Roads.  The Sports Council meetings are essentially a regional networking opportunity for everybody involved in the sports world (ex: facilities, clubs, non-profits, medical, etc.) to connect and share ideas/best practices.

The most recent Sports Council lunch meeting took place on Tuesday, May 17 at the Virginia Beach Field House. A variety of sports related organizations from around the region attended the luncheon including individuals from:

Visit Norfolk
The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium
Old Dominion University
