NORFOLK
A long-rumored exhibition between the Norfolk Tides and the parent Baltimore Orioles will be held March 29 at Harbor Park at 3:05 p.m., according to the spring training schedule released by Major League Baseball on Thursday.
The Orioles will break camp early in Sarasota, Fla., and stop on their way to Baltimore to play their top minor-league affiliate for the second time in three years.
"I really like it. That's great," Tides manager Ron Johnson said from his home in Tennessee. "You get out of spring training. You've been there for about six weeks. It's time to go."
The Tides beat Baltimore 6-4 in Norfolk in an exhibition on April 4, 2012. The O's played the Washington Nationals in exhibition games at Harbor Park in 2007 and 2009.
The Tides will also play an exhibition game against Norfolk State on April 1. Ticket information for both games is expected to be released by the Tides in the coming days.
