Morgan Lang Joins Staff of Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and Hampton Roads Sports Commission

Norfolk, VA - The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Morgan Lang has joined the joined the staff as the Associate Executive Director for the Hampton Roads Sports Commission (HRSC).  In this capacity, she will also serve as Director of Sports Development for the Chamber.  The Hampton Roads Sports Commission is an affiliate of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.  In these roles, Lang will work with HRSC Executive Director Jack Ankerson to research and bring new amateur sports to Hampton Roads and maintain fulfillment for HRSC membership and sponsorship support.  She will also be involved in the operations, logistics, and promotion of the 2015 AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Lang, originally from Westfield, New Jersey, earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the College of William & Mary with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She then attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership. In addition to her scholastic achievements, Lang also has four years of sports management experience. In 2008 and 2009, she worked as the Marketing Executive for the U.S. Open conducted by the USGA.  Most recently, Lang served as Director for the 2010 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, conducted by the USGA.

In February of 1999, the Hampton Roads Sports Commission was formed as a public/private partnership among the seven cities of the Hampton Roads Region: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News, and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.  The Commission’s primary function is to attract major amateur athletic events to the area and to emphasize regional collaboration. The Hampton Roads Sports Commission is an affiliate of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
