Event Details:

The Run for the Dream includes a half marathon, an open 8K run/walk and Kids Fun Run. The 8K has been designated the 2013 USA Masters 8 km National Championships with a $10,800 runner prize purse!  We’re excited to announce that during our 2011 and 2012 races, two USATF National Masters 8 km age group records were set and validated!

Runners may choose to take on the Patriots Challenge and earn a third medal (and bragging rights) by running in both the 8K on Saturday, June 1 and the half marathon on Sunday, June 2.

But wait! There’s more! The first 3,000 registrants will receive the following: a free one day pass to Busch Gardens ($70 value), a $15 Busch Gardens meal voucher, and a free pass to Colonial Williamsburg ($40 value)!  Discounted Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg tickets will also be available to runners’ friends and family. Spring is a beautiful time to visit Williamsburg and the area offers numerous opportunities for exploration and fun for the entire family.

The Run for the Dream is race directed by Dave McGillivray, famed race director of the B.A.A. Boston Marathon, and is professionally managed by his race operations staff, DMSE Sports, Inc. A letter from Dave that highlights the unique attributes of this event is attached, and we invite you to share this letter with your club members.
