
NORFOLK, Va. – The Hampton Roads Chamber, The Virginian-Pilot newspaper and The Daily Press newspaper are proud to announce the inaugural All-Tidewater Baseball Challenge, an all-star game featuring top high school baseball standouts from the Hampton Roads region.
The inaugural All-Tidewater Baseball Challenge will be held on Monday, June 20 at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex on the campus of Old Dominion University. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. The game will consist of top public and private high school baseball players selected to the All-Tidewater baseball first and second teams at the completion of the season by Larry Rubama of The Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press newspapers.
The day will include a luncheon for players and their families, a home run derby and a seven-inning baseball game, all on the campus of Old Dominion University. General admission tickets cost $10. Fans can upgrade their visit to the stadium by way of the right-field “rally alley,” which provides an enhanced viewing and eating experience.
